Our Personal Stories...
Hutch's Story
I was never one to feel that the world of the paranormal surrounded us. Never believing that the house i grew up in was haunted. In the late summer of '97 I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Upon leaving my room I walked towards the bathroom that was to the left of my room. The staircase was across the hall for the bathroom. As i got closer i heard the door to the staircase at the bottom slowly open.
The only light that was in the area was a small night light in the bathroom. The stairs started to creek as if someone was heading upstairs towards me. As I reached the top of the staircase i peeked around the corner looking down towards the door. slowly heading up the stairs was a shadow that was hard to see so my first thought that i was just seeing things. As the sound got closer I realized that it must be my shadow from the light that was cast from behind me.
But that didn't seem to be it either for the noise and the shadow reached the top of the stairs stopping there. I stood there for what seemed to be forever standing in front of me was the shadow. My nerves were shot as I watched it stand in one spot with no movements from it or I. After some time the head or what seemed to be the head tilted and looked down to the other end of the hall. It seemed to look right through me.
The shadow seemed to turn and walk towards me. I moved as if the shadow had mass of its own. It may have walked though me or around me but i was to scared at that point to play chicken with it. The floor in the hallway creaked as it made its way down the hall to my grandmother's room. Fearing not knowing what it was and just getting over the death of my grandfather I reached for the light switch at the top of the stairs. The light came on and the shadow did not disappear as I had hope thinking my eyes were playing a trick on me. stopping again the head seemed to turn looking over its shoulder. finally as if answering my pleas to go away it was gone.
After that i ran back to my room closing the door. staying in my room till I heard my grandmother get up. I called out to her to make sure she was the one making the noise that came from the hallway that morning.
After that night I would see things out of the corners of my eye all time untill the day i moved out. I never told my grandmother I never wanted to believe that that night happened but the truth was that it did and it perked my belief into the paranormal. I researched and learned to make my own theories about the paranormal.
finally meeting my friend and co-owner Brad at Polly-O in Campbell, NY we came up with a plan to try and document what we know is real.
